Gala Dinner & AwardsIncluding the presentation of awards for the annual NOWW Writing Contest and the Kouhi and Phillips Awards followed by dinner and dancing.

Time: Symposium 6:00 pm Location: Prince Arthur Waterfront Hotel and Suites Cost: $45 Format: The evening will include a symposium reception beginning at 6:00, followed by dinner, keynote address by Angie Abdou, announcement of the winning writing contest entries, presentation of the Kouhi and Phillips awards, a special showing of a selected 10 x 10 play, and door prizes, followed by a dance. About Angie...
Angie Abdou has a PhD in Creative Writing and is an Associate Professor at Athabasca University. She has published five books of fiction, including the Canada Reads finalist The Bone Cage. Her most recent novel, In Case I Go, was a fiction category finalist for the Banff Mountain Book Award and made best of 2017 lists by CBC Books and the Writers' Trust. The Vancouver Sun called it "a spectacularly successful novel." Angie's first nonfiction book (Home Ice: Reflections of a Reluctant Hockey Mom) is forthcoming with ECW Press in September 2018.
